This study aimed to examine the challenges faced by female seafarers in Tanzania's maritime industry through a qualitative approach and descriptive research design. A sample size of 67 was determined using a formula to ensure reliable and valid research. Data collection involved questionnaires, interviews, and direct observations. Analysis utilized SPSS, Excel, and Python programming. The findings revealed that female seafarers face challenges related to isolation, loneliness, safety standards, job satisfaction, pay and benefits, work-life balance, and maternity rights. The study highlights the needs for the industry to address these issues and promote greater gender equality and inclusivity. The results also indicate that there may be a gender pay gap, inadequate awareness and implementation of maternity rights, and a lack of resources and support for female seafarers to manage their work and family responsibilities. Future research should focus on further exploring these issues and developing solutions to promote gender equality and inclusivity in the maritime industry.

This paper presents a study on the community perspectives on the use of pipeline-quality natural gas in Tanzania conducted among students at higher learning institutions. The study employed a mixedmethods approach, including both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies. A standardized questionnaire for quantitative data collection and analysis was distributed online to a random sample of 207 students from four Tanzanian higher learning institutions. The study found a large knowledge gap among respondents in comprehending pipelinequality natural gas for household heating purposes, as well as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as per Tanzania clean cooking energy roadmap 2033. To bridge this gap and encourage the use of pipelinequality natural gas, the study recommends raising community awareness, motivation, and understanding through various means such as focused group discussions, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, brochures, technological innovations, training and capacity-building, and diverse media platforms such as radio, TV, social media, cartoons, pictures, sketches, documentary records, and special reading and writing materials for disabled groups. Future research might look into the impacts of various awareness campaigns in promoting the use of greener energy options in Tanzania. Furthermore, studies might investigate the hurdles to adoption and how they can be overcome through focused interventions.

However, while beverage industries enjoy the benefits of outsourcing to some of their non-core activities, it has been established that the outsourcing of transportation service has cost implications which bring a debate to whether outsourcing of transportation impacts the profitability of the beverage industries or not. This study ventures in determining the effects of costs in outsourcing transportation on the profitability of the beverage industries in Tanzania. The study was governed by the Principle of Agency Theory and Transaction Cost Analysis. Case study research design was used for this purpose where TBL-Arusha branch was taken as the case study. Purposive sampling was used to select key informants for this study, while simple random sampling was used to select 30 staff for the study. Unit of analysis was the TBL company-Arusha branch operating in beverage sector and practicing outsourcing of transportation and unit of observation was the TBL staff whereby both qualitative and quantitative data were collected by using self-administered survey questionnaire and key informant interview guide. Collected data were analysed by using descriptive statistics. The study findings revealed that despite that outsourcing of transportation benefits the TBL, the costs associated with outsourcing transportation services impact the profitability of the company. It is therefore concluded that, costs in transport outsourcing affects the profitability of the beverage industry. The study recommends that cost elements of outsourcing transportation service should be reviewed and negotiated in order improve the profitability of the company.
